Theresa Darmody relocated to Brisbane 7 years ago as a painter- seeking to include some sculptural pieces in an exhibition, she attended a carving workshop, which got her hooked on carving! Theresa’s paintbrushes and paints are now in storage and she finds herself carving every day. She enjoys making functional pieces such as spoons, combs and bowls as well as purely sculptural objects. She is fascinated by the form of the object and the nature of each piece of wood. Find more of her work at @theresadarmody on Instagram.
Wendy Hatfield-Witt has been a practicing artist and teacher for over 30 years, working with both functional and sculptural ceramics. Holding a Bachelor of Ceramics (Honours) Wendy’s primary focus is to create works that are aesthetically pleasing and utilitarian – believing that one can never have to many pots in the kitchen! Throughout her career Wendy has taught wheel throwing, hand building, decorative techniques, and glaze technology to students from beginners to advanced.
