"I joined the Woodturning Society in 1982 and immediately was directed to an 8 week all day Saturday course at Ithaca TAFE. This gave me a great grounding in tool handling. I then turned on weekends until I stopped working as a School Lab Technician. Then I was able to increase my woodturning time. I attend Turnfest regularly allowing me to get fresh ideas and new methods. I am also enjoying trying many different timbers obtained both commercially and from gardens."
