Liz was born in Venezuela and has lived in Mexico and Sweden before relocating to Australia where she has been for over 20 years. Being exposed to diverse cultures has shaped her perception of the world and heavily influenced her ceramic work, which is constantly evolving. Liz’s ceramic practice comprises of both hand-built and wheel thrown techniques.

”My pieces can be hand-built or wheel-thrown. One technique I love deadly is Raku, an ancient low firing Japanese technique that involves removing the piece from the kiln when it is still glowing hot. It’s ideal for metallic glazes and can produce amazing results.”
