Go to the shopRegarded as one of Australia's best contemporary jewellers, Barbara Heath has been working with clients and organisations for over five decades. Working under the moniker "Jeweller to the Lost" Heath is without a doubt, one of Queensland's most cherished artisans, having created private and public commissions that adorn both individuals and buildings. Whilst Heath works closely with architects and designers to create objects to adorn public buildings and spaces, in her studio, she uses medieval techniques and age-old materials, to make precious objects for private clients.
In her commission work, which is central to Heath’s practice, she has documented a personal history for an important cross section of the Brisbane community, resulting in works which are markers for occasions of significance, of gain, loss, achievement and attainment. Heath’s early articulation of the ‘commission’ delves much deeper into a significance of the contemporary heirloom. In a rare opportunity we welcome an intimate and exclusive collection of Barbara’s production pieces to the artisan retail space. Heath’s production work consists of small-batch, collectable pieces to last a lifetime.
