Tang is a creative industries professional and entrepreneur with over 15 years of multidisciplinary experience. As a co-owner of a ceramics studio, Tang merges artistry with practical solutions, tackling each project as a creative problem solver. Over the past eight years, Tang has built a strong reputation for streamlining processes, solving operational challenges and developing products for the giftware market, featured in art galleries and boutique stores across Australia.

Shannon Garson

Shannon is an Australian ceramic artist, writer and curator with a studio practice spanning 20 years that includes commissions for festivals, exhibitions at public and private galleries and arts advocacy. Shannon began her creative life as a painter and this is evident in the intricate drawings that move across the surface of her thrown porcelain vessels. Shannon also works across a range of media using drawing, ceramics, photography and performance to investigate the relationship between human activity and the infinite variety of striations, spots and marks found in nature.

Ella's role developed from a series of internships in artisan's retail space. Guided by a deep commitment to Queensland’s design and craft community, Ella is a graduate from the Queensland College of Art with a specialisation in jewellery and small objects.
As artisan’s Creative Assistant, Ella now channels her dedication into uplifting local makers, through supporting the development of opportunities where Queensland’s creatives can truly flourish.

Anna is a Curatorial Assistant at artisan. She studied at Central Saint Martins in London and has a strong interest in contemporary craft and material culture. 

In her role she contributes to exhibition development, artist research and the delivery of creative programs, supporting projects that connect artists, objects and audiences.

Hyunjoo serves as artisan's Creative Program Coordinator, bringing her visual arts expertise and business systems background to support the organisation's program coordination and other general operations. A graduate of Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts), Hyunjoo's journey with artisan began in 2022 through curatorial internship and retail volunteer roles. She has since become an integral team member with her continued involvement in both creative programs development and business systems innovation.

With 15 years of experience in the cultural retail sector, Rachel Burton is a seasoned retail strategist who specialises in leveraging data-driven insights to deliver growth in both brand profile and commercial outcomes. Known for her strategic approach, Rachel uses analytics to drive decisions that increase revenue, enhance customer engagement and elevate brand positioning.

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts, graduating as a university medallist and has completed postgraduate studies in Economics, giving her a unique blend of creative vision and analytical acumen.

Rachel is particularly interested in the development of a genuine circular economy within the arts in Queensland. As she continues to innovate and drive impactful change, her focus remains on creating sustainable, economically viable models that not only benefit businesses but also contribute to a more sustainable future for the arts and cultural sectors.
