Ronelle Clarke

Brisbane, Queensland

Ronelle Clarke is a Brisbane based visual artist and teacher who has been involved in ceramics since studying at RMIT University in the 1970’s.

Ronelle’s dynamic sculptural and functional works explore attachment to place, family, and the coastal environment.

"Decorating wheel-thrown, hand-built and slip cast pieces with underglaze brushwork, I use simple repeat patterns derived from images of the sea and foreshore. The ebb and flow of the sea and constantly changing sand bar, the flow of water at a river’s mouth all offer endless sources of imagery.” Ronelle Clarke
