Dominic Daly (b.1985 in Mackay, QLD) has a passion for materials & sustainable design, currently exploring 3D printing technology and using eco-friendly polymers like polylactic acid (PLA) and recycled PETG to create captivating ambient lighting & decor.
Born in the regional town of Mackay, Queensland, Dominic relocated to Brisbane in 2012 to pursue a Bachelor of Industrial Design Honours at QUT, where he graduated with Second-Class Honours. His lifelong curiosity about the inner workings of objects, materials, textures, and a deep-rooted fascination with design propelled him towards a path of creativity and craftsmanship.
Inspired by the principles of the maker movement, which values individuals not just as consumers but also as creators. He embraces the artisan spirit and believes in the power of hands-on experience and learning through the act of making.
Dominic's particular interest lies in his studio's ability to produce on-demand locally, using sustainable materials & methods.
