Florence Joly was born in France. After graduating with a diploma in advertising and drawing, she moved to graphic design, which she studied in Paris. Florence moved to Australia in 1997 where she was inspired by Australian botanicals and continued to work within her drawing practice. Florence has since developed a love for jewellery and is inspired by the limitless ways in which she can use wire to weave, knit and create intricate mesh from jump rings. Florence works with a range of alloys including copper and sterling silver as well as a range of precious and semi-precious gems and continues to be inspired by patterns in nature.
