Sydney, New South Wales

Murray Topham was first introduced to clay as a medium through a neighbour, and in 2005, he graduated from The National Art School in Sydney. Murray was involved with running the Student Pottery Studio at The University of New South Wales and taught wheel and porcelain classes.

Working primarily in porcelain, Murray explores ideas of mapping, the past, perceived future, and evolving journeys. He uses techniques of throwing and altering, combined with slips, inlay and sgraffito to create surfaces that reflect the mapping of these journeys.
