artisan at Melbourne Design Fair 2023

artisan at Melbourne Design Fair 2023

Melbourne Design Fair is an annual platform curated by the National Gallery of Victoria and delivered in collaboration with the Melbourne Art Foundation, for designers, commercial galleries, design agencies and organisations to come-together under one roof to promote and sell the best collectible design from Australia and the world.

Taking place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 18 – 21 May, the Fair will feature work for sale from more than 150 designers across 60+ presentations staged by prominent commercial galleries, design agencies, organisations and studios.

artisan is presenting fourteen Queensland based designers / designer collectives. Queensland’s vast and starkly contrasting landscape, and unbeatable lifestyle is reflected in the contemporary collectible designs presented by artisan at the Melbourne Design Fair.

Emboldened by a sense of place, Queensland designers present elegant, playful, stylish and ethical design solutions that well align with artisan’s vision. This collection comes together from as far North as Guugu Yimithirr country in Cape York to the southern Bundjalung country / the Gold Coast, Gubbi Gubbi  country / the Sunshine Coast hinterland,  Minjerribah / Stradbroke Island and Meanjin / Brisbane.

A not-for-profit organisation, artisan has over 50 years of history supporting and promoting craft and design in Queensland. Funded by Arts Queensland and the Australia Council, artisan showcases the work of craft and design practitioners in exhibitions, retail opportunities both instore and online, whilst building skills and sector viability through workshops and an extensive variety of public programs and advocacy activities.
