Material
With its wavy grain this was not an easy vase to carve but Qld maple always rewards in the end. The vase was hand-carved and then sanded to a 400 grit finish. I then burnished it and applied 3 coats of beeswax and hempseed oil, buffing in between coats over several days, allowing the oil and wax to sink deep into the grain.
