Give Pottery a Spin Friday - 9 May, 4 - 8 pm
Give pottery a spin with ceramicist Michael Shaw, who’ll also demonstrate how he creates his recently welcomed works.
Michael is an Australian ceramic artist and educator from Quandamooka (Redlands QLD). His practice explores the meaning of relationship... to the environment, between maker and user, the creative process, and those that ebb and flow around his work.
To connect his work to its place of making, Michael includes locally foraged clay and glaze materials from environments that hold meaning to him. including the areas surrounding Currumbin where he grew up and Wellington Point, where his studio is now based.

Everlasting Flower Arrangements - 9 & 10 May
Whitney Gorlitz of Snakes & Lovers Flowers will be in store crafting everlasting flower arrangements this Friday evening, Friday 9 May, from 4 pm to 8 pm, and Saturday, 10 May, during our usual trading hours.
Whitney is a Brisbane-based florist who is focused on crafting flower crowns, wreaths and arrangements that incorporate native elements with other floral selections that will dry beautifully and therefore stand the test of time.
Urban Sketch Session - 10 May, 10 am - 12:30 pm (9:45 arrival)
Adding to the creative vibe, Alan Innes will lead an urban sketching session at artisan this Saturday. Alan's 50-year design background in architecture, urban design, landscape architecture informs his drawings of Brisbane and Ipswich landmarks. A regular at Urban Sketchers Brisbane, his series of gift cards have proven popular!
