A patterned visual puzzle of 9 modular pieces, each 20 x 20 x 20cm, acrylic on hand-crafted plywood forms.

Like a game of three-dimensional Tetris the work sparks playful curiosity - the viewer considers how many moves are required for modules to collapse into a series of patterned cubes. It invites the interactive audience and unveils upon close inspection a materiality revealed in its construction – plywood grain and the brushstroke of enamel paint is celebrated rather than concealed. Mis-tinted paint sourced locally speaks to the vernacular of local architecture. Our perception of form is challenged - surfaces are treated at once as exterior shells and exposed interiors - colour simultaneously wraps the surface and reveals a cross-section of form.
