Ruby Yu-Lu Yeh of Yeh Ceramics is an emerging Taiwanese-Australian ceramic artist based in Meanjin (Brisbane). She utilises both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques to experiment with clay and develops works that are both sculptural and functional. She is intrigued by the possibilities of using cube to form a sophisticated piece, as well as the organic tone and texture of different clay bodies. A play between rigid forms and spontaneity can be observed in Ruby’s work.

She is also a student practitioner of Urasenke Japanese tea ceremony under the guidance of Sensei Tomoko (Soho) White. Ruby has participated in group exhibitions in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Ruby was a finalist in the competitive National Emerging Art Prize in 2021.
