In Contemporary Queensland Glass, Conron presents two series of works. The first comprises five wall-hung pieces featuring layered glass panels with hand painted enamel designs, using traditional stained glass painting techniques. These works push the boundaries of her practice through innovative enamel application techniques and visual imagery design. The second series consists of blown glass vessels adorned with hand-painted enamel in multiple layers, exploring light transmission and shadow play.
As the inaugural recipient of the National Artisan Residency Program, Conron's work exemplifies the exhibition's mission to nurture Queensland talent. Her pieces, created at Canberra Glassworks, demonstrate the technical mastery and artistic vision that flourish when Queensland artists access world-class facilities.
