"The work I have made for this exhibition is inspired by Gwyn’s travels, particularly her time in St Ives at the Leach pottery and her close proximity to Barbara Hepworth. I have not seen any clear documentation of their meetings, but I assume that Gwyn and Barbara met, as the town is quite small and the Leach pottery and the Hepworth making compound were close by to each other. I have made a series of sculptures inspired by natural objects that can be arranged in the form of Gwyn’s still lifes and hold some of the ideas Hepworth has written about."
