Sunshine Coast, Queensland
As a nature lover, Sunshine Coast based contemporary jeweller Nicole Jakins’s work is constantly inspired by the beauty, fragility and biodiversity of Australian native flora and fauna.
Her works are made as sustainably as possible, using salvaged and discarded materials, found objects and commercially recycled sterling silver.
“Patterns, shapes and textures in an Australian-native context provide me with the inspiration for handcrafted jewellery and other objects. Living and working on a 40 acre “Land for Wildlife” property allows me a unique opportunity to closely observe blooms, seedpods and other native flora and fauna.” Nicole Jakins
