Information
These horsehair pieces are hand-thrown on the potters wheel, before being trimmed and extensively burnished with a stone over multiple days. They are then biscuit fired before being fired again in a raku kiln. The pieces are removed hot (800C), and the hair is applied, instantly vaporising and leaving indelible marks on the surface of the piece. The result is a velvety soft satin finish with marks that evoke scribbly gums, elegant marble, and geographic motifs. With a fine monochromatic finish on an elegant form, these pieces make the perfect gift for the collector in your life. *These pieces are low-fired, and therefore remain porous.
