Information
Fragility investigates themes of fragility and environmental impact through ambiguity and materiality using the abstracted and fragmented form of the black cockatoo as a symbolic starting point. In Fragility, repetition and reduction create a visual language of tension and absence, incorporating industrial materials to contrast delicacy and resilience. Gabi’s innovative use of enamel mixed with reclaimed copper oxide creates textured, charred surfaces. Sustainability is embedded through the reuse of material by-products. Traditional sawing techniques are reinterpreted in Gabi’s contemporary jewellery making, using cut forms in experimental ways to communicate complex environmental narratives with subtlety. Fragility is both wearable object and environmental commentary.
Note: All available-for-purchase works exhibited in 2026 UNLEASHED+ can be collected after the exhibition closure in November.
