About the Artwork

Cast Hope, 2026, was first woven from cane and rattan, secured with handmade cordage and dipped in beeswax before undergoing lost wax casting in bronze. Cast Hope is a conductive and collective vessel for hope that invites the audience to make a hope for their futures and/or our collective futures and mentally project these hopes into the opening of the vessel. In an active search for hope during our current climate this work prompts us to consider how do we hold, release and activate our hope.
