THE WORRY ROOM
Small Object Space
21 September – 2 November 2018
The Worry Room is a site-specific installation of over 400 individually sculpted faces contorted with worry. Pippin Blackwell has masterfully moulded familiar expressions of stress, grief and concern.
We all wear these feelings to varying degrees throughout our lives, so Pippin’s endearing characters – lining the walls of Artisan’s Small Objects Space – evoke empathy and understanding. This display of objects addresses the cyclic and complex experience of anxiety, unease, stress or uncertainty as a shared experience and creates an opportunity to reflect on these emotions from an unusual perspective
