The CAIA Collective is a dynamic group of current students and alumni of the Contemporary Australian Indigenous Art (CAIA) degree from the Queensland College of Art and Design. This exhibition is a celebration of the diverse voices, perspectives, and creative practices that emerge from the CAIA program.
Through a rich array of artistic mediums, students embark on a personal and cultural journey, using their art to explore and express their family histories, ancestral connections, and lived experiences. Each artwork is a testament to the ongoing dialogue between tradition and contemporary practice, reflecting both the resilience and evolution of Indigenous storytelling in visual form.
This exhibition not only highlights the depth of talent within the CAIA Collective but also reinforces the power of art as a means of cultural preservation, resistance, and self-determination, the exhibition offers a compelling insight into the ways in which emerging artists engage with their heritage while forging new artistic pathways.
