Ceramics and Textiles
No pieces from Marisa Culpo are in the store right now. New work arrives regularly.
Brisbane, Queensland
Marisa Culpo’s practice is grounded in experimentation, with a focus on process, materiality and the evolving function of art. Her work investigates the relationship between medium and meaning, exploring how materials influence perception, expression and interpretation. Through an intuitive and exploratory approach to making, she challenges conventional boundaries of form, line and structure, allowing materials to guide the development of each work.
Working across textiles and ceramics, Marisa emphasises surface, pattern and the handmade, foregrounding the tactile and sensory qualities of her materials. Her interdisciplinary practice reflects an ongoing interest in craft traditions, material play, and sculptural form. Through layering, construction and repetition, her works explore the intersection of ornament, abstraction and object-making. Marisa is a graduate of the Queensland College of Art and currently works as a Visual Arts Educator at TAFE Queensland.
