Raquel Diniz

Brisbane, Queensland

Raquel Diniz was born in Portugal, where she studied sculpture at Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade Lisbon. She explored the human figure, organic builds in clay, and mixed-media, always with a curiosity towards the contrasts between nature and built form, geometry and organic, human and flora.

Now based in Brisbane, Diniz's work has been dedicated to ceramics, focusing on hand building. Her experiences in public art, community involvement, scenography, and teaching/therapy arts have inspired her to explore different shapes and textures to create playful shapes and storylines using different clay bodies and glazes.
