Aboriginal and Torres Strait Craft & Design Showcase 2025 - Statewide Call for Artists

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Craft & Design Showcase 2025 - Statewide Call for Artists
We're seeking exceptional First Nations artists, makers and designers from across Queensland for our inaugural showcase and artisan store takeover in early April 2025. This landmark exhibition will celebrate the vibrant future of Indigenous craft and design and develop a new audience for their work and products.
We invite art centres, galleries and cultural organisations throughout Queensland to nominate talented creators working across:

  • Textiles and fibre arts
  • Contemporary jewellery
  • Ceramics and clay work
  • Traditional and innovative design
  • Contemporary craft and/or design practices

A distinguished curatorial panel has been nominated and will be formally announced in January who will select the featured practitioners. Their expertise will help shape this significant presentation of Queensland First Nations craft and design.

This inaugural showcase is proudly dedicated to Queensland's Aboriginal Art Centres, acknowledging their vital role in nurturing and supporting Indigenous creative practices across our state. By bringing together artists from every region, we aim to create a contemporary showcase of Indigenous craftsmanship and design innovation.

If you're an arts organisation working with First Nations artists and makers, we welcome your recommendations and look forward to discovering new voices shaping Queensland's creative future.

Join us in April 2025 as we celebrate and profile these visionary Indigenous creators in this landmark exhibition.
