Made 2026 Symposium: Shaping Queensland Maker's Future
Australia's makers have shaped the nation's culture for generations. Now there's a place to come together, connect with each other, and help shape what's next.
This September, artisan is launching MADE 2026, a new symposium bringing makers, craftspeople, designers and curators together for a day of connection, conversation and ideas.
During the exhibition
To be held on Thursday 10 September at artisan's new home within the State Library of Queensland, MADE 2026 is your chance to step into the wider maker community and meet other makers from across Queensland and beyond, swap ideas, and hear from some of Australia's leading craft and design voices.
The day opens with a keynote from Sally Brand, Curatorial Manager of Australian Art at QAGOMA, followed by A Nation of Makers, a panel conversation featuring:

In the afternoon, there will be breakout sessions where you'll work alongside other makers to build practical ideas for the sector's future, no experience or insider knowledge needed, just curiosity and a willingness to get involved.
At the conclusion of the event, we have catered for you to linger a bit longer with your new or existing maker network.

30% of in-person places are reserved for regional and remote Queensland makers.
