They are then biscuit fired before being fired again in a raku kiln. The pieces are removed hot (800C), and the hair is applied, instantly vaporising and leaving indelible marks on the surface of the piece. The result is a velvety soft satin finish with marks that evoke scribbly gums, elegant marble, and geographic motifs.
