About the workshop:

Create a pendant or ring using the ancient art of lost wax casting.

Learn the skills and techniques to create in wax your own free-form pendant or ring which will be cast into brass, bronze or copper. Use your hands and a variety of tools to manipulate wax into textured shapes and forms while you explore this fun, versatile medium in preparation for creating your final piece.

At the conclusion of the workshop, your piece will be sent away to be cast in the material of your choice and finished and polished by Olesya in her studio. Your ring or pendant will then be ready for collection from artisan within 3 weeks. Information on care and maintenance of your new jewellery as well as a visual guide to pursue lost wax casting further on your own will be issued at the workshop.

About Olesya Zolotaya:

Olesya Zolotaya is the art persona of Olesya Petkov - 'Zolotaya'meaning 'gold' in Russian, Olesya's native tongue. Olesya graduated from a jewellery major at QCA in 2016. She has been making jewellery for 6 years and has exhibited at Jan Murphy Gallery in a pop-up exhibition in 2017.

Her practice explores ways of making via the lost wax casting method.
