In our 2-hour DIY PR workshop we’ll take you through the ins and outs of kickstarting your own media relations for your business from what to say, who to say it to and guidance on how long it can take to get your foot in the door. We’ll start with what exactly PR is, why PR isn’t advertising, what you need to DIY it and more.
You’ll leave with an overview of PR for small to micro businesses, a handful of PR angles and ideas you can start pitching and a general media pitch to send to journalists. We’ll also share how to ‘get your house in order’ so that you’re ready to start pitching.

About Claire Deane:
Digital marketer, analytics geek and passionate educator, Claire leads the team at Deane & Co, a full service agency where marketing is personal.
In her career, to date, Claire has worked across a wide range of big and small brands from fashion, to food, digital platforms, yoga studios, educational institutions and more. She launched The Urban List across three Australian cities, developed Tourism & Events Queensland’s email marketing strategy and has developed social media strategies for the B Corp listed Kester Black.

Please note this workshop can be cancelled by artisan due to unforeseen circumstances or if minimum numbers are not reached. In this event participants will be refunded accordingly and as soon as possible.
Participant Cancellation Policy:
Workshops have limited spaces and involve preparation by the facilitator.
Bookings cancelled up to one week prior to the start of the workshop may be refunded, but a 20% non-refundable administration fee will be deducted.
Bookings cancelled within one week of the workshop commencing will NOT be refunded.
You are welcome to transfer your booking to another person prior to the workshop commencing. Please confirm this arrangement in writing to email@example.com.
