About the workshop:

Want to see your name on the glossy pages of Vogue, worn by an influencer on the world stage or just want some local recognition in your neighbourhood newspaper? Then this is the workshop for you.

In our 2-hour DIY PR workshop we’ll take you through the ins and outs of kickstarting your own media relations for your business from what to say, who to say it to and guidance on how long it can take to get your foot in the door.  We’ll start with what exactly PR is, why PR isn’t advertising, what you need to DIY it and more.

You’ll leave with an overview of PR for small to micro businesses, a handful of PR angles and ideas you can start pitching and a general media pitch to send to journalists. We’ll also share how to ‘get your house in order’ so that you’re ready to start pitching.

What to bring:

  • Notepad and pen (or laptop if you’re a digital note taker!)
  • Any examples of previous photography / media materials (if you have them)
  • Curiosity and questions!
  • Light refreshments provided
