About the workshop:
Whittle a little timber bird with wood worker Carol Russell. Work with your hands while Carol introduces you to hand carving techniques, including how to safely use and maintain tools. Finishing techniques will be demonstrated and you will have the option of decorating your bird in a variety of mediums. Start with a piece of timber and leave with your own entirely completed precious wooden bird.
This workshop is suitable for beginners but will also appeal to people who want to expand on previous wood working experiences.

About Carol Russell:
Carol has over 25 years experience as a furniture maker, antique restorer and teacher. Carol’s on-going love for timber led her to hand carving smaller objects like wooden spoons and knives, wooden vessels and milking stools. Based in Queensland, Carol travels Australia-wide teaching carving workshops. Carol regularly conducts a range of different workshops at artisan. Carol’s stunning work has been exhibited widely, including in artisan’s Marketplace exhibition curated by Melinda Gagen.

Please note this workshop can be cancelled by artisan due to unforeseen circumstances or if minimum numbers are not reached. In this event participants will be refunded accordingly and as soon as possible.
Participant Cancellation Policy:
Workshops have limited spaces and involve preparation by the facilitator.
Bookings cancelled up to one week prior to the start of the workshop may be refunded, but a 20% non-refundable administration fee will be deducted.
Bookings cancelled within a week of the workshop commencing will NOT be refunded.
