    About the workshop:

    Screen print your own design on linen tea towels with textile artist Rebecca Lewis. In this workshop, you will be guided through the steps of hand-cut screen printing. Rebecca will help you decide on a suitable design, then to transfer and cut your image onto screen print paper, and finally print it onto fabric. You will be able to print two linen tea towels with your own bespoke designs during the workshop.

    Not only this, Rebecca will share her tips and tricks to personalise clothing and print your own homewares. You’ll go home with new skills and ideas, and the know-how to set up simple and affordable screen-printing at home.

    Skill level:

    This workshop is suitable for beginners or experienced makers wanting to extend their skills.

    Included in workshop ticket:

    • All materials: printing screens, ink, cutting tools and squeegees
    • Special screen print paper to create stencils
    • Two linen tea towels each to print and keep
    • Mini screen print guide (printed info handout to take home)
    • Light refreshments

    What to bring:

    • Blank t-shirt/s to print on (100% cotton)
    • Spare fabric to print on (linen or cotton) plain or patterned
    • Some starting ideas of what you would like to print – silhouettes work best

    Please wear:

    • Closed shoes
    • Clothes that can get a bit dirty or an apron

    About Rebecca Lewis:

    Rebecca is self-taught textile artist, seamstress and printmaker living and working in Ipswich, Queensland. A degree in Environmental Management, along with a personal philosophy grounded in sustainability, informs the direction of Rebecca’s arts practice. She works predominantly with vintage fabrics, discarded craft supplies and found objects to create one-off or short-run garments, accessories and homewares.

    Workshop Cancellation Policy:

    Please note this workshop can be cancelled by  artisan due to unforeseen circumstances or if minimum numbers are not reached. In this event participants will be refunded accordingly and as soon as possible.

    Participant Cancellation Policy:

    Workshops have limited spaces and involve preparation by the facilitator.

    Bookings cancelled up to one week prior to the start of the workshop may be refunded, but a 20% non-refundable administration fee will be deducted.

    Bookings cancelled within a week of the workshop commencing will NOT be refunded.

    You are welcome to transfer your booking to another person prior to the workshop commencing. Please confirm this arrangement in writing to workshop@artisan.org.au.
