Afternoon session

When: Saturday, 27 April, 2019

Time: 1:30pm

Where:  artisan, 45 King Street and Machinery Lane, Bowen Hills, QLD 4006

Cost: $65 per person, limited to eight people per session

Duration: 2 hours

About the workshop:

Come and try this rug making taster session that mimics hand tufting without all the infrastructure. A simple hand-held tool, a backing cloth stretched tight onto a frame, and some hand dyed wool, is all you need to catch the bug. Bec calls this "rug making for the modern maker". It is simple, fast and addictive.

This two-hour workshop will teach you the basics of punch needle and allows time to explore the technique, without the pressure of having to complete a piece. It's a great introduction to skills you might like to further explore.

Start planning where you’d like a rug under your feet in your home, because once you have tried punch needle you will want to do more. Promise!

Included in workshop ticket:

  • All materials required
  • Light refreshment

 What to bring:

  • Notebook
  • Small sharp scissors (some will be provided but your own are always best)
  • Please wear closed shoes
  • Extra cash, there is an option to buy your own punch needle tool to keep for $35

Skill level: This workshop is suitable for beginners
