About the workshop:

Create and print your own design on fabric and paper with Brisbane-based artist and printmaker Kay Watanabe. This is a fun and experimental workshop combining printmaking, repeat pattern and mixed media techniques to create a unique piece of artwork to take home.

You will learn how to design and carve rubber stamps, and then use them to print onto small pieces of fabric and various paper. Using repeat and block patterns you can develop your own design, with the option of discussing how to take the design further with a practicing printmaker. The ink will be heat set and the piece further embellished by layering and reworking with various printmaking techniques. Kay’s techniques can be easily applied when making various paper and fabric artworks.

  • Tuition with an established printmaker
  • All materials and tools are provided
