About the workshop:

Learn the basics of relief printmaking with an introduction to woodcut, and print your very own works on paper. This versatile and accessible technique can be applied to the creation of artist’s books, textile design, poster design and limited edition prints.

This class will cover carving out your image from a wood block, safe cutting techniques, inking of the block, and hand printing. You will also be advised on how to hand-colour your prints and options for printing papers.

You will take home a striking set of your own prints, your own wood block and full instructions so you have the ability to print at home using this technique.

  • Prints and block to keep
  • Access to all materials including cutting tools, inks, brayers, ink slabs, rags, printing paper, cutting mats, etc
  • Information handout to take home
