HANDBUILT PLANTER

When: Tuesday 2nd of November, 5-8pm

Where: artisan, 45 King Street and Machinery Lane, Bowen Hills, QLD 4006

Cost: $120 per person, limited to 8 places

 

About the workshop:

In this workshop you will learn basic handbuilding techniques to create your own ceramic planters from scratch; pinching, slab, coiling and joining. Using a range of clays, Stephanie Outridge-Field will guide you to build a range of planters, and talk you through different texture and decoration techniques including underglaze colours, attachments and printing textures. Stephanie will then fire your planter, and it will be ready to pick up from artisan within a few weeks! Time allowing participants will have the opportunity to make multiple planters.

What you get:

  • All materials including clay, glaze and a variety of tools
  • Firing completed by Stephanie
  • Your finished planter/s to keep
  • New handbuilding skills!
  • Tea & coffee, biscuits

What to bring:

  • Clothes that can get dirty, or an apron
  • Closed in shoes

About the facilitator:

Stephanie Outridge Field is a ceramic and multimedia artist with over thirty years professional studio and exhibition practice ranging from commissioned design development to the creation of large-scale sculptural statements for installation in major commercial and public precincts. Steph is passionate about clay and it's origins, and sharing her love of ceramics.

Skill Level: This workshop is suitable for beginners

 

 

COVID-Safe Policy:

Please be assured artisan has well considered COVID-safe protocols regarding our workshop programming. You will be offered socially distanced seating, access to your own PPE sanitation options at your workspace, and a large extremely well-ventilated workshop venue.

Workshop Cancellation Policy:

Please note this workshop can be cancelled by artisan due to unforeseen circumstances or if minimum numbers are not reached. In this event participants will be refunded accordingly and as soon as possible.

Participant Cancellation Policy:

Workshops have limited spaces and involve preparation by the facilitator. Bookings cancelled up to one week prior to the start of the workshop may be refunded, but a 20% non-refundable administration fee will be deducted. Bookings cancelled within a week of the workshop commencing will NOT be refunded.

Workshop Transfer Policy:

You may transfer your booking into an alternative workshop up to one week prior to the start of the workshop. Any difference in cost will be charged accordingly. Please endeavour to complete any transfers at least one week prior to the workshop.

You are also welcome to transfer your booking to another person prior to the workshop commencing. Please confirm this arrangement in writing to workshop@artisan.org.au.
