Apart from mobility, the defining characteristics of furniture can be elusive. This exhibition seeks to discover and reveal an underlying quintessential essence in furniture designed by Queenslanders, for Queenslanders.
Presenting confidently established design practitioners alongside innovative and emerging furniture designers, the curators, Roz and Christopher De Wall McKenzie, seek to convey the legacy, identity, Influence and audaciousness of Queensland, in our future heirlooms.
Her role as the Queensland state chair of the Design Institute of Australia led Roz De Wall to cross paths with her now partner, design entrepreneur Chris McKenzie. Chris has years of experience in the fine art and commercial art consulting game and has curated collection for diverse customers like The Star Casino and the Sofitel. Together they launched and Unlmtd Agency, a multidisciplinary design agency and Markian, crafting quality bespoke furniture, luxurious interior objects, rugs and fine art, both located in the heart of Brisbane.
