Leah Heiss is a multi-award winning designer and RMIT researcher working at the nexus of design, health, and technology. Her process is deeply collaborative, working with experts from nanotechnology, engineering and health services through to manufacturing. Her health technology projects include jewellery to administer insulin through the skin for diabetics: biosignal sensing emergency jewellery; and swallowable devices to detect disease.
Leah will be visiting us from Melbourne for the launch of Agency By Design, Expressive design for disability. This exhibition features Facett the world’s first modular self-fit hearing aid. Leah designed this with Blamey Saunders hears and in May 2018 it received the 2018 Good Design Award, CSIRO Design Innovation Award and two Best in Class Good Design Awards (Product Design- Medical and Scientific and Social Innovation).
Join us for this free floor talk and stay for the Agency by Design opening.
