In a nod to Ekka icons such as the laughing clown, dodgems and the woodchop, Pru Morrison has designed a unique series of pins, patches, and magnets. Caitlin Sheedy’s graphic work My journey through the Ekka, has been produced as attractive and collectable sets of postcards and gift cards. All merchandise is available only at artisan.
Pompom-making activity for the whole family
Drop into artisan for a cosy winter activity and make a colourful pompom. It’ll be a pomtastic addition to your Ekka outfit! We have a variety of wools and yarn to shape your fuzzy accessory. You can pin it to your clothing and wear it, or display it in our cascading pompom curtain.
As part of your pompom-making kit, you’ll receive a template, instructions and yarn. artisan staff will also be available to help you get started.
This is a family-friendly activity and all ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Win a giant crocheted strawberry sundae
Well-known local maker Millie Radovic has created a giant one-and-a-half-metre crocheted Strawberry Sundae, which will be won by one lucky Ekka visitor. See this plush tribute to the Ekka’s iconic tasty treat and buy your raffle tickets at artisan during the Ekka. Proceeds will go to supporting Queensland craftspeople and makers.
