Calling craft and design practitioners: 2021 artisan exhibition opportunities

To our community of makers, artists, and designers, this one’s for you! We have several exciting opportunities in 2021/22 to exhibit in either our Small Objects Space, or Machinery Street Gallery!

We are open to all areas of craft and design, whether it be decorative, functional or conceptual,  we're interested in seeing examples of the fresh and exciting work you are creating. Send us your woodcrafts, textiles, ceramics, jewellery, furniture, fashion, fibres or product design!

To apply, please prepare a short expression of interest including:

  • a few paragraphs (no more than 500 words) about your practice
  • five to ten images of your recent work in low-res jpeg format with details of title, medium and size for each, or a link to images on your website.
  • a short (1 page max) bio or artist cv

Submit your expression of interest to exhibitions@artisan.org.au

From these proposals, a shortlist of artists will be asked to meet with the Curator to discuss their work before the final selection is made. Artists selected will be offered an opportunity to exhibit in one of our small spaces. Exhibition opportunities include an artist fee, professional installation, promotion and documentation of your exhibition. Please note, Machinery St Gallery is a window space and, although airconditioned, is exposed to UV light which may affect some artwork. Please consider this in your application.
